what is the sober sisterhood?
The Sober Sisterhood is a completely nonjudgmental, open-minded safe space for sober women who are exploring sobriety. Whether you have been sober for 10 years or 10 days, you are extremely welcome to hang out with us via Zoom. It doesn’t matter if you are an avid AA-goer or if you have yet to find a sober space where you feel comfortable…THIS is the space where you will always belong and fit in.
how do i become a sober sister?
It’s easy. All you have to do is be a woman who is exploring sobriety, whether you are “sober curious” or a sober veteran. This group is very new and will continue to evolve as we hold more meetings and connect with more sisters. For now, the sign-up process is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is click the link below and reserve your spot for the upcoming Zoom meeting.
what can i expect during a sober sisterhood get together?
The Sober Sisterhood will help us connect with amazing and inspiring women from the sober Instagram community. Direct messaging is great and all, but I’m ready for us to get together and have real discussions. I want the meetings to be somewhat intimate, so there are 30 available spots for each meeting. That way, everyone will have a chance to talk (if you want to) and it won’t be so overwhelming! As for right now, reserving your spot is on a first-come, first-served basis.
My plan is to have specific topics and themes for each meeting. As a professional writer, I am a huge fan of journaling activities that promote self-reflection, self-love, gratitude, etc.! I’m also passionate about meditation, yoga, and holistic healing practices. I would love to share some of that information with other like-minded sober sisters who are interested in integrating spirituality and mindfulness into their sober journey. But don’t worry, we will talk about more than just crunchy granola stuff.
The meetings will be roughly an hour long (they may go longer!) and hosted by yours truly. I will make sure that everyone has a chance to express themselves and be seen and heard. I will be guiding us through the meeting, but think of this group as a welcoming place for sober friends to vent, share, cry, laugh, and be completely honest with one another.
when will the meetings be held?
For now, Friday nights will be our go-to nights for meetings. Why, you ask? Because while everybody else is hitting the bar, we can get together and talk about how grateful we are to be bright-eyed, fully present, and living our best lives without alcohol. It’s also a great way to kick off the weekend on a positive note.
lauren’s ultimate goal for the sober sisterhood
I don’t know about you, but I don’t have ANY sober friends in real life. I gave AA a real chance, but it still wasn’t for me. So, I decided to take things into my own hands! This is not a structured sobriety program with a bunch of rules. This is a laid back, stress-free opportunity to meet other women who are just like you and are also seeking healing and connection. You will not be judged or criticized here. You will be welcomed with open arms and understood! I want everybody to leave Sober Sisterhood meetings feeling uplifted, positive, and confident.
